The maiden UV India 2011 Conference & Exhibition was held on 13-14 October 2011 at the Manekshaw Centre, New Delhi to an overwhelming response.
The event was supported by A|D|S UK and PHD Chamber as Industry Partners. The Centre for Air Power Studies (CAPS) and AMI International were the Knowledge Partners. Event Sponsors included IAI and Elbit Systems, Israel. Textron Systems were Supporting Sponsors.
UV India 2011 covered land, sea and air systems. The event covered unmanned combat air vehicles, micro and mini UAVs, unmanned ground vehicles (surveillance, EOD, load-carrying), payloads (sensors, EW, weapons), ground stations (data links, launch and recovery systems), aerial targets and maritime unmanned systems.
The conference had high-level participation from the Indian Army, Indian Navy, Indian Air Force, DRDO, Ministry of Defence, academia, defence public sector undertakings and other defence establishments. Speakers from the defence insutry also addressed the delegates.
The event also aimed to bring international companies into India to identify possible avenues for joint collaboration, as well as promoting the proactive participation of industry in the development of UVs.
The conference focused on the development and employment of UVs, and their potential in India.
