Dynamatics_logoBangalore-based Dynamatic Technologies, which has a strong focus on aerospace, with the distinction of being a private sector Indian firm acting as a Tier One supplier to global OEMs, handed over the first major aero structures for the Bell 407GX/GT Bell helicopter on 19 February. Indian Defence Minister Mahonar Parrikar was present at the handing over ceremony of this first Made in India Aft Fuselage assembly and Turnover Bulkhead assembly by Dynamatic Technologies which is also supplying flap track beams for the Airbus Industries under a long term contract. According to a spokesman of the company, since 2012 Dynamatic Technologies has been working with Bell Helicopters, Textron India to develop world class aeronautical capability in India as part of Bell Helicopter’s global sourcing strategy.
Dynamatic Technologies engineering team in association with Bell Helicopter’s manufacturing engineering team developed a robust process of converting legacy engineering data from Bell Helicopter’s 2D paper drawings, lofts and sample parts to create new digital files that will enable Dynamatic Technologies to take advantage of digital manufacturing technologies and Bell Helicopter to consider 21st century evolution and modification of the Bell 407 product. Bell Helicopter and Textron Systems signed a multi-million dollar global agreement in Nov.2014 for a seven year period with an option to extend through the life of the product with Dynamatic Technologies. This agreement establishes Dynamatic Technologies as a sole supplier of major airframe assemblies to Bell 407 programme.
