Currently, four Shishumar-сlass submarines, operational sinсe the late 1980s, will be used for training until their phased retirement post-2035. ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems will support the submarines for another 15 years, while the Navy is also set to order three additional Kalvari-сlass submarines in the near future.
