Adani Defence & Aerospace has linked with the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and Israel’s Elbit Systems to begin deploying counter-UAS equipment in some of the country’s major airports.

“First deployment is happening at the civil airports, which are owned by Adani’s and the intention is to take it to the largest set of airports within the country – and then you talk about any critical establishment, nuclear establishment, seaports, power plants, each and every establishment which require counter drone technology,” Ashish Rajvanshi, CEO of Adani Defence & Aerospace said.

Adani Airports operates Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Mangaluru, Jaipur, Guwahati and Thiruvananthapuram airports through the Airports Authority of India’s globally competitive tendering process. And in February 2020, the company signed the Concession Agreement (CA) for three airports and subsequently commenced operations in Mangaluru International Airport (Mangaluru), Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport (Lucknow), Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport (Ahmedabad). The company also manages 12 ports.

Adani Elbit Advanced Systems India Limited, a joint venture between Adani Defence & Aerospace and Elbit Systems, Israel has set up the first private UAV manufacturing complex at Adani Aerospace Park in Hyderabad to assemble unmanned aerial platforms.

The company is manufacturing Hermes 900 Unmanned Aerial Platforms and marketing it to international customers.
