The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) successfully conducted Release Trials of the Long-Range Glide Bomb (LRGB) Gaurav from the Su-30 MKI aircraft, demonstrating a range close to 100 km with pinpoint accuracy. This 1,000 kg class glide bomb, developed indigenously, involved collaboration with industry partners like Adani Defence Systems & Technologies and Bharat Forge. The trials are a significant step towards the weapon’s induction into the Indian Air Force (IAF), enhancing the armed forces’ capabilities. Government officials, including Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh, praised the successful trials, highlighting their importance in India’s defense strategy and self-reliance in military technology.
