The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has launched new policies under the Technology Development Fund (TDF) Scheme to enhance collaboration with the private sector in developing advanced military technologies. This initiative aims to streamline partnerships between academia, industry, and DRDO, fostering innovation through established DRDO Industry Academia Centres of Excellence (DIA-CoEs) at premier institutions. With a focus on 84 designated research verticals, these efforts are crucial for indigenizing technology and keeping pace with global advancements. By providing funding and structured research roadmaps, DRDO seeks to ensure that emerging technologies transition effectively from research to practical applications, reinforcing India’s defense capabilities and self-reliance.
