Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia has said that by 2026 the Indian drone industry will achieve a turnover of over Rs 15,000.

Speaking at the launch of the Bharat Drone Mahotsav, on 27 May 2022, he said that India is home to 270 startups in the drone technologies business.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the event and hailed the new technology as offering a significant opportunity for welfare measures and last-mile delivery of services.

“According to the prime minister, technology is only successful when it is able to help the needy and improve their living,” said the aviation minister.

“Today there are 270 drone start-ups in India. We are ahead of many of the countries,” he added.
