Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers (GRSE) and Apollo Micro Systems (AMS) have jointly developed a Mini-Torpedo for Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) aimed at neutralizing small combat boats, enhancing India’s maritime security against asymmetric threats. This innovative weapon features a range of approximately 57 kilometers and a 12 kg warhead, making it effective against agile vessels often used in piracy and coastal incursions. The collaboration, formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding in January 2025, leverages GRSE’s naval expertise and AMS’s technological proficiency, providing the Indian Navy and Coast Guard with a lightweight, precision- guided solution to counter small, elusive threats in coastal waters.
