
Mahindra Aerostructures, a subsidiary of the Mahindra & Mahindra group, has secured a contract with Airbus to manufacture the fuselage for Airbus H130 helicopters in India, with the first unit expected to be delivered by the first quarter of 2027. At the signing ceremony in New Delhi, Airbus India President Rmi Maillard emphasized the company’s commitment to invest further in India, highlighting the burgeoning demand in the aviation sector. Civil Aviation Minister K Rammohan Naidu echoed this sentiment, stressing the importance of enhancing the country’s manufacturing ecosystem to facilitate indigenous aircraft production and envisioning India as a future global aviation hub. This collaboration not only underscores India’s potential in the aerospace industry but also aligns with the government’s initiatives to boost local manufacturing and self-reliance in defense and aerospace capabilities.
