Astra Microwave Products Limited has significantly enhanced its production capabilities to manufacture 36 Uttam Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) radars annually, bolstering India’s self-reliance in defense manufacturing. This advancement supports the indigenous Tejas fighter jet program and aligns with the government’s Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat initiatives. The Uttam AESA radar’s advanced features, including multi-target tracking and resistance to electronic jamming, make it a crucial asset for modern aerial warfare, increasing the operational effectiveness of the Indian Air Force. With 95% indigenous content, this development not only reduces dependency on foreign suppliers but also showcases India’s growing technological expertise in defense.
