French defense manufacturer CYGR and India’s RRP Defence announced the launch of a cutting-edge drone manufacturing facility in Navi Mumbai on July 19, 2025, with an initial investment of $50 million and plans to double that as operations scale. The partnership, supporting the ‘Make in India’ initiative, will produce  advanced drones—including nano, fixed-wing, and ISR models—for tactical, surveillance, and industrial use. The project features significant technology transfer, local skill development, and aims to position India as a global exporter of high-end UAVs. This move comes as India boosts domestic defense production policies, reflecting strong industry optimism and the expanding strategic value of drones across multiple sectors.
