BEML Limited has launched its indigenously designed High Mobility Vehicle (HMV) 1212 at its Palakkad complex, a significant advancement in India’s defense mobility and self-reliance. Developed in collaboration with the Vehicles Research and Development Establishment (VRDE), this robust all-terrain vehicle, with a Gross Vehicle Weight of 65 tons and features like a centralized tyre inflation system, is engineered to operate in extreme conditions, vital for military operations. The HMV 1212 reflects BEML’s commitment to the Make in India initiative, bolstering India’s defense capabilities while reducing reliance on foreign technology. Both BEML’s Chairman and the VRDE Director emphasized the importance of this collaboration, marking it as a milestone in enhancing India’s defense infrastructure and contributing to national security objectives.
