
The Indian Army has signed a significant procurement deal worth Rs 168.09 crore with Ashok Leyland Defence Systems for 54 Heavy Recovery Vehicles (HRVs), enhancing its combat force regeneration capabilities. These advanced HRVs are designed for challenging terrains and will improve recovery operations, supporting mission success rates and operational readiness. This move aligns with the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative, emphasizing indigenous manufacturing and reducing foreign defense dependency. The procurement not only modernizes the Indian Army but also strengthens the domestic defense industry, showcasing India’s commitment to self- reliance in defense technology and operational efficiency.
